Call to Worship

Holy is the Lord
We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength

We bow down and worship him now
How great, how awesome is he
And together we sing, everyone sing

Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength

We bow down and worship him now
How great, how awesome is he
And together we sing, everyone sing

Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory

It is rising up all around
It’s the anthem of the Lord’s renown
(repeat)

And together we sing, everyone sing

Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory

Christ is Risen
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely you’ve bled for us

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven’s will
No scheme of hell, no scoffer’s crown
No burden great can hold you down
In strength you reign
Forever let your church proclaim

Christ risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

O, death, where is your sting
O, hell, where is your victory
O, church, come stand in the light
Our God is not dead, he’s alive, he’s alive

Christ risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Gifts

An Affirmation of Faith
What do you believe about the work of Jesus Christ?

We believe that Jesus Christ presented himself
in our name before his Father,
to appease his wrath with full satisfaction
by offering himself on the tree of the cross
and pouring out his precious blood
for the cleansing of our sins.

Praise My Soul the King of Heaven
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven
To his feet your tribute bring
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven
Evermore his praises sing
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King

Father-like he tends and spares us
Well our feeble frame he knows
In his hands he gently bears us
Rescues us from all our foes
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Widely yet his mercy flows

Frail as summer’s flower we flourish
Blows the wind and it is gone
But while mortals rise and perish
Our God lives unchanging on
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise the high Eternal One

Angels, help us to adore him
Ye behold him face to face
Sun and moon, bow down before him
Dwellers all in time and space
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace

Sermon
“The Story that Defines Us”
2 Timothy 1:8-12

Prayer of Confession
In the light of divine grace, we recognize ourselves to be a Church of sinners.

We require forgiveness daily,
and live only through the mercy of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
He redeems us from our isolation
and unites us into a living Church…*

Let us Pray

Be merciful to us, God
be compassionate and forgive,
for you are our Father,
and Christ is our Savior.
Through Jesus. Amen.

The Lord’s Supper

The Apostles’ Creed (for reflection)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise him, all creatures here below
Praise him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen
