Call to Worship — All The Poor and Powerless
All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely
And all the thieves will come confess
And know that you are holy
And know that you are holy
And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah
All the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that you are holy
And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah
Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That he is God
(repeat)
And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

The Solid Rock
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
When darkness veils his lovely face
I rest on his unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
His oath, his covenant, his blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
When he shall come with trumpet sound
O may I then in him be found
Dressed in his righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

The Earth Is Yours
Your voice it thunders
The oaks start twisting
The forest sounds with cedars breaking
The waters see you
And start their writhing
From the depths a song is rising
Now it’s rising from the ground…
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours
The earth is yours
Your voice it thunders
The ground is shaking
The mighty mountains now are trembling
Creation sees you
And starts composing
The fields and trees, they start rejoicing
Now it’s rising from the ground
Now it’s rising from the ground
Hear us crying out…
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours
The earth is yours
The earth is yours

An Assurance of the Gospel
Q. What comfort do you receive from the article about the life everlasting?
A. Since I now already feel in my heart the beginning of eternal joy, I shall after this life possess perfect blessedness, such as no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived–a blessedness in which to praise God forever.
—The Heidelberg Catechism, Q&A 58
Everlasting God
Strength will rise
As we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
(repeat)
Our God, you reign forever
Our Hope, our strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
Strength will rise
As we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
(repeat)
Our God, you reign forever
Our Hope, our strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
Our God, you reign forever
Our Hope, our strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

Sermon
“The Epitaph that Awaits Us”
2 Timothy 4:6-8
Prayer of Confession
Good Father and Sovereign God,
Hear our prayer and forgive our sins,
Cause your Word to sink deeply
Into our hearts and lives,
That you may shape us into
The image of Christ.
Send your Spirit to cleanse, fill and renew.
Turn our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh.
And speak your Son into a broken world,
Through our redeemed lives.
Through Jesus. Amen
The Lord’s Supper
Jesus I Come
Out of my bondage, sorrow and night
Jesus, I come, Jesus I come
Into thy freedom, gladness and light
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of my sickness into thy health
Out of my wanting and into thy wealth
Out of my sin and into thyself
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of my shameful failure and loss
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come
Into the glorious gain of thy cross
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of earth’s sorrows into thy balm
Out of life’s storms and into thy calm
Out of distress into jubilant psalm
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of unrest and arrogant pride
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come
Into thy blessed will to abide
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of myself to dwell in thy love
Out of despair into raptures above
Upward forever on wings like a dove Jesus, I come to thee
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come
Into the joy and light of thy home
Jesus, I come to thee
Out of the depths of ruin untold
Into the peace of thy sheltering fold
Ever thy glorious face to behold
Jesus, I come to thee

The Apostles’ Creed (for reflection)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise him, all creatures here below
Praise him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen
