Welcome & Announcements

Call to Worship
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving;
let us shout joyfully to him with psalms.

For the Lord is the great God,
and the great King above all gods.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth;
the heights of the hills are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it;
and his hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.

—Psalm 95:1-7 (NKJV)

I Will Call Upon the Lord
The Lord liveth and blessed be my Rock
And let the God of my salvation be exalted
The Lord liveth and blessed be my Rock
And let the God of my salvation be exalted

I will call upon the Lord
(I will call upon the Lord)
Who is worthy to be praised
(Who is worthy to be praised)
So shall I be saved from my enemies
(So shall I be saved from my enemies)

I will call upon the Lord
(I will call upon the Lord)
Who is worthy to be praised
(Who is worthy to be praised)
So shall I be saved from my enemies
(So shall I be saved from my enemies)

The Lord liveth and blessed be my Rock
And let the God of my salvation be exalted
The Lord liveth and blessed be my Rock
And let the God of my salvation be exalted

Majestic
O Lord, our Lord how majestic
Is your name in all the earth
O Lord, our Lord how majestic
Is your name in all the earth

The heavens declare your greatness
The oceans cry out to you
The mountains they bow down before you
So I’ll join with the earth
And I’ll give my praise to you

O Lord, our Lord how majestic
Is your name in all the earth
O Lord, our Lord how majestic
Is your name in all the earth

The heavens declare your greatness
The oceans cry out to you
The mountains they bow down before you
So I’ll join with the earth and I’ll sing

The heavens declare your greatness
The oceans cry out to you
The mountains they bow down before you
So I’ll join with the earth
And I’ll give my praise to you

I will worship you
I will worship you
We will worship you
We will worship you

The heavens declare your greatness
The oceans cry out to you
The mountains they bow down before you
So I’ll join with the earth and I’ll sing

The heavens declare your greatness
The oceans cry out to you
The mountains they bow down before you
So I’ll join with the earth
And I’ll give my praise to you

Nothing But the Blood
What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

O, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

For my pardon, this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing, this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

O, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

O, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

O, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

A Confession of the Church

What do you believe about the church of Christ?

We believe and confess
one single catholic or universal church—
a holy congregation and gathering
of true Christian believers.
This holy church is not confined,
bound, or limited to a certain place or certain persons.
But it is spread and dispersed
throughout the entire world,
though still joined and united
in heart and will,
in one and the same Spirit,
by the power of faith.

How Great is Our God
The splendor of a King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice
And trembles at his voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age he stands
And time is in his hands
Beginning and the End
Beginning and the End

The Godhead, three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
(repeat)

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Sermon
“What are We Doing Here? Waiting on the Spirit”
Acts 1:1-12

Prayer of Confession
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning.”

Have mercy on us, O God.
Forgive our many sins.
Wash us and make us clean.
Send your Spirit to fill us, teach us to wait on you,
with willing and obedient hearts.
Grant us grace to trust you as you work,
even when our hearts feel desperate, and our spirits are weak.
Forgive when we rely on our own strength and refuse to rely on you.
Strengthen us by your Spirit,
and empower us to be the Church
to a World in need of your transforming grace.
Through Jesus. Amen.

The Lord’s Supper

Be Thou My Vision
Be thou my vision
O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me
Save that thou art

Thou my best thought
By day or by night
Waking or sleeping
Thy presence my light

Be thou my wisdom
And thou my true word
I ever with thee
And thou with me, Lord

Thou my great Father
I thy true son
Thou in me dwelling
And I with thee one

Riches I heed not
Nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance
Now and always

Thou and thou only
First in my heart
High King of heaven
My treasure thou art

High King of heaven
My victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys
O bright heav’ns Son

Heart of my own heart
Whatever befall
Still be my vision
O ruler of all
