Call to Worship
Give thanks to the LORD!
Praise his name!
Tell the whole world what he has done—His mighty acts on our behalf.
Sing to the LORD, for he has done wonderful things!
Raise your hearts and voices!
Shout and sing your praise!
For great is the Holy One who lives among us!
—based on Isaiah 12:3-6
Thy Mercy
Thy mercy, my God
Is the theme of my song
The joy of my heart
And the boast of my tongue
Thy free grace alone
From the first to the last
Hath won my affection
And bound my soul fast
Without thy sweet mercy
I could not live here
Sin would reduce me
To utter despair
But through thy free goodness
My spirit’s revived
And he that first made me
Still keeps me alive
Thy mercy is more
Than a match for my heart
Which wonders to feel
Its own hardness depart
Dissolved by thy goodness
I fall to the ground
And weep for the praise
Of the mercy I’ve found
Great Father of mercies
Thy goodness I own
In the covenant love
Of thy crucified Son
All praise to the Spirit
Whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon
And righteousness mine

Holy Is The Lord
We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship him now
How great, how awesome is he
And together we sing, everyone sing
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory
We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship him now
How great, how awesome is he
And together we sing, everyone sing
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory
It is rising up all around
It’s the anthem of the Lord’s renown
It is rising up all around
It’s the anthem of the Lord’s renown
And together we sing, everyone sing
And together we sing, everyone sing
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
Holy is the Lord God almighty
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory
The earth is filled with his glory

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations
Gifts — To God Be the Glory
To God be the glory, great things he has done
So loved he the world that he gave his own Son
Who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the earth hear his voice
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
And give him the glory, great things he has done
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood
To every believer the promise of God
The vilest offender who truly believes
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the earth hear his voice
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
And give him the glory, great things he has done
He has done great things
(He has done great things)
He has done great things
(He has done great things)
He has done great things
(He has done great things)
He has done great things
(He has done great things)
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the earth hear his voice
Praise the Lord, (praise the Lord)
Let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son
And give him the glory, great things he has done

Affirmation of Faith
In a world estranged from God, where happiness and peace are offered in many names and millions face confusing choices,
we witness to the only one in whose name salvation is found: Jesus Christ.
In Jesus, God reconciles the world to himself.
Jesus Christ rules over all.
To follow this Lord is to serve him wherever we are without fitting in,
light in darkness, salt in a spoiling world.

O Worship the King
O worship the King
All glorious above
O gratefully sing
His wonderful love
Our Shield and Defender
The Ancient of Days
Pavilioned in splendor
And girded with praise
O tell of his might
O sing of his grace,
Whose robe is the light
Whose canopy space
His chariots of wrath
The deep thunderclouds form
And dark is his path
On the wings of the storm
Your bountiful care
What tongue can recite
It breathes in the air
It shines in the light
It streams from the hills
It descends to the plain
And sweetly distills
In the dew and the rain
Frail children of dust
And feeble as frail
In you do we trust
Nor find you to fail
Your mercies how tender
How firm to the end
Our Maker, Defender
Redeemer, and Friend
O measureless might
Ineffable love
While angels delight
To worship above
Your ransomed creation
With glory ablaze
In true adoration
Shall sing to your praise

Sermon
“Plundering with Jesus”
Scripture Reading: Luke 11:14-26
Prayer of Confession
In the beginning of human history,
our first parents walked with God.
But rather than living by the Creator’s word of life,
they listened to the serpent’s lie
and fell into sin.
Fallen in that first sin,
we prove each day
that apart from grace
we are guilty sinners:
we fail to thank God,
we break God’s laws,
we ignore our tasks.
Looking for life without God,
we find death;
grasping for freedom outside the law,
we trap ourselves in Satan’s snares;
pursuing pleasure,
we lose the gift of joy.
Have mercy on us, God.
Cleanse us from our sin,
And create a clean heart in us
—from ‘Our World Belongs to God’ 13-14 & Psalm 51
The Lord’s Supper
In the Shadow of the Glorious Cross
In the shadow of the glorious cross
Compelled by grace to cast my lot
I’ll discard the loss and bare your name
Forsaking all for your own fame
Your hymn of grace sung over me
Abounding forth in glorious streams
My thirst is quenched by you, my Lord
Sustained am I, redeemed, restored
Sustained am I, redeemed, restored
Hallelujah, hallelujah
When death’s dark shadow’s at my feet
When I am plagued by unbelief
You place my hands into your side
By precious blood identified
By precious blood identified
Hallelujah, hallelujah
These crowns I’ve clenched with fisted hands
I cast them down before the throne
Of Christ, my God, the worthy lamb
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Hallelujah, hallelujah
