Call to Worship

LEADER: I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.

PEOPLE: For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

let your glory be over all the earth.

—Psalm 108:3-5 (NIV)

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love

Better Is One Day
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty
For my soul longs and even faints for you

For here my heart is satisfied
Within your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of your wings

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your house
Better is one day in your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Than thousands elsewhere

One thing I ask and I would seek
To see your beauty
To find you in the place your glory dwells

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your house
Better is one day in your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
(repeat)

My heart and flesh cry out
For you the living God
Your Spirit’s water to my soul
I’ve tasted and I’ve seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to you
I will draw near to you

Better is one day
Better is one day
Better is one day
Than thousands elsewhere
(repeat)

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your house
Better is one day in your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
Than thousands elsewhere
Than thousands elsewhere

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

Gifts — Only the Blood
What can wash away my sin
Only the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Only the blood of Jesus

Nothing can for sin atone
Only the blood of Jesus
Nothing good that I have done
Only the blood of Jesus

O Great God, blessed Redeemer
Merciful Savior you are
O Great God, King of creation
Hope of the nations you are

This is all my hope and peace
Only the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Only the blood of Jesus

O Great God, blessed Redeemer
Merciful Savior you are
O Great God, King of creation
Hope of the nations you are

O Great God, blessed Redeemer
Merciful Savior you are
O Great God, King of creation
Hope of the nations you are

You are… gracious in saving
You are… perfect in loving
You are… one day returning you are

You are… gracious in saving
You are… perfect in loving
You are… one day returning you are

One day returning you are
One day returning you are

What can wash away my sin
Only the blood of Jesus

An Affirmation of our Faith
My only comfort in life and in death is that I am not my own,
but belong— body and soul, in life and in death
to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,
and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way
that not a hair can fall from my head
without the will of my Father in heaven:
in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit,
assures me of eternal life
and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready
from now on to live for him.

Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy, holy, holy
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to thee

Holy, holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity

Holy, holy, holy
Though the darkness hide thee
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see

Only thou art holy
There is none beside thee
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity

Holy, holy, holy
Lord God Almighty
All thy works shall praise thy name
In earth, and sky, and sea

Holy, holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons, blessed Trinity

Sermon
“Times of Refreshing”
Scripture Reading: Acts 3:11-26

Prayer of Confession
Gracious and loving Father, we praise you for Jesus,
our Redeemer and Good Shepherd,
who carried our sins to the cross, and who finds us daily when we stray.
Have mercy on us.
Forgive our many sins.
Heal, restore and renew us, that we may live peacefully,
and love generously, until he comes again.
Through Jesus. Amen.

To all who turn from sin in sorrow, to all who turn to God in hope,
this is God’s Word of grace: We are accepted, we are forgiven, we are loved.
This gift we have from God.

Thanks be to God.

The Lord’s Supper

Be Thou My Vision
Be thou my vision
O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me
Save that thou art

Thou my best thought
By day or by night
Waking or sleeping
Thy presence my light

Be thou my wisdom
And thou my true word
I ever with thee
And thou with me, Lord

Thou my great Father
I thy true son
Thou in me dwelling
And I with thee one

Riches I heed not
Nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance
Now and always

Thou and thou only
First in my heart
High King of heaven
My treasure thou art

High King of heaven
My victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys
O bright heav’ns Son

Heart of my own heart
Whatever befall
Still be my vision
O ruler of all

Ancient Irish poem, ca. 8th cent. tr. M. E. Byrne 1905;verse. E. H. Hull, 1912. Tune, SLANE, traditional Irish melody CCLI 241710

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father
And to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end
Amen, amen
