Call to Worship
Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the LORD, O my soul.
—Psalm 103:21-22, NIV (1984)
And Can It Be
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood
Died he for me who caused his pain
For me who him to death pursued
Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, should die for me
He left his Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite his grace
Emptied himself of all but love
And bled for Adam’s helpless race
’Tis mercy all, immense and free
For O my God, it found out me
Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, should die for me
(repeat)
Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light
My chains fell off, my heart was free
I rose, went forth, and followed thee
Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, should die for me
(repeat)
No condemnation now I dread
Jesus, and all in him, is mine
Alive in him, my living head
And clothed in righteousness divine
Bold I approach the eternal throne
And claim the crown, through Christ my own
Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, should die for me
(repeat)

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

A Profession of Jesus Christ
This Lord, our God, the Word of God, the Word made flesh,
the Son of the Father, the Son of God, the Son of man,
exalted that he might create us,
humbled that he might recreate us.
Walked among men and suffering what is human.
Let every sigh be a panting after Christ,
let that most beautiful One,
who loved even the ugly that he might make them beautiful,
let him be longed for.
Hurry to him alone.
—A Prayer from Augustine of Hippo (354-430 AD)
Revelation Song
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is he
Sing a new song to him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings
You are my ev’rything and I will adore you
Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor
Strength and glory and power be
To you the only wise King
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings
You are my ev’rything and I will adore you
Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath and living water
Such a marvelous myst’ry…
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings
You are my ev’rything and I will adore you

Sermon
“The Graced Community”
Acts 4:32-37
Prayer of Confession
Gracious Father and God,
you are our Strong Deliverer and Mighty King.
Be merciful and forgive our sin.
Restore our faith and renew our strength.
Fill us with your Spirit.
Teach us to love and obey your Son.
And enable us to live freely and joyfully
in the promise of what will one day be,
in spite of our weaknesses and fears.
That our world will know that you are the God
who loosens chains and sets prisoners free.
Through Jesus. Amen.
The Lord’s Supper
Come As You Are
Come out of sadness from wherever you’ve been
Come broken-hearted, let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, O sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal
So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face
O wanderer come home, you’re not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
Come as you are
There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table, come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary, rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t cure
So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face
O wanderer come home, you’re not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
Come as you are
There’s joy for the morning, O sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal
So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face
O wanderer come home, you’re not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
Come as you are
