Worship – September 20, 2015

Welcome & Announcements

Call to Worship
We have a great high priest
who has ascended into heaven,
Jesus, the Son of God,
In him, we have one who has been tested as we are,
yet did not sin.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with boldness,
so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need.

—based on Hebrews 4:14-16

Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace
Come boldly to the throne of grace
Ye wretched sinners come
And lay your load at Jesus’ feet
And plead what he has done

How can I come, some soul may say
I’m lame and cannot walk
My guilt and sin have stopped my mouth
I sigh, but dare not talk

Come boldly to the throne of grace
Though lost, and blind, and lame
Jehovah is the sinner’s friend
And ever was the same

He makes the dead to hear his voice
He makes the blind to see
The sinner lost he came to save
And set the prisoner free

Come boldly to the throne of grace
For Jesus fills the throne
And those he kills he makes alive
He hears the sigh or groan

Poor bankrupt souls, who feel and know
The hell of sin within
Come boldly to the throne of grace
The Lord will take you in, take you in

This is Amazing Grace
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross

You laid down your life
That I would be set free
O, Jesus I sing for all that you’ve done for me

Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory, the King of Glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross

You laid down your life
That I would be set free
O, Jesus I sing for all that you’ve done for me

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross

You laid down your life
That I would be set free
O, Jesus I sing for all that you’ve done for me

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

Gifts — We Are Yours
You placed eternity in our hearts
We were yours from the very start
All we’ve known has been torn apart
And now we have forever

You gave a song for our souls to sing
And your life was the offering
Even death, it has lost its sting
Now we have forever

And you can’t take away what the world didn’t give
We were made for more, we were made for more
At the end of the day, this will remain
Forever we are yours, forever we are yours

You made a place at your table, God
Paid the way for the poor and lost
Called us into your open arms
And now we have forever

And you can’t take away what the world didn’t give
We were made for more, we were made for more
At the end of the day, this will remain
Forever we are yours, forever we are yours

And you can’t take away what the world didn’t give
We were made for more, we were made for more
At the end of the day, this will remain
Forever we are yours, forever we are yours

No one, no one can take your place
No life, no death can separate
Your love, your love has conquered the grave
You conquered the grave

And you can’t take away what the world didn’t give
We were made for more, we were made for more
At the end of the day, this will remain
Forever we are yours, forever we are yours

No you can’t take away what the world didn’t give
We were made for more, we were made for more
At the end of the day, this will remain
Forever we are yours, forever we are yours
Forever we are yours, forever
We are yours
We are yours

Confession of the Church
In the light of divine grace,
we recognize ourselves to be a Church of sinners.

We require forgiveness daily,
and live only through the mercy of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
He redeems us from our isolation
and unites us into a living Church of Jesus Christ.
Amen.

We Have an Advocate”

Prayer of Confession
Father in Heaven,
we take refuge in you through Jesus.
Forgive our many sins.
Search our hearts and heal our ways.

Enable us to love as Christ has loved,
beyond our comforts and in spite of our fears,
that you may receive the honor and praise you deserve.

The Lord’s Supper

I Surrender All
All to Jesus I surrender
All to him I freely give

I will ever love and trust him
In his presence daily live

All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at his feet I bow

Worldly pleasures all forsaken
Take me Jesus, take me now

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to thee, my blessed Savior
I surrender all

All to Jesus I surrender
Make me, Savior, wholly thine

My thy Holy Spirit fill me
May I know thy pow’r divine

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to thee, my blessed Savior
I surrender all

All to Jesus I surrender
Lord I give myself to thee

Fill me with thy love and power
Let thy blessing fall on me

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to thee, my blessed Savior
I surrender all
