Call to Worship

How Firm a Foundation
How firm a foundation
Ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith
In his excellent Word

What more can he say
Than to you he hath said
To you, who for refuge
To Jesus have fled

Fear not, I am with thee
O be not dismayed
For I am thy God
And will still give thee aid

I’ll strengthen thee, help thee
And cause thee to stand
Upheld by my righteous
Omnipotent hand

When through the deep waters
I call thee to go
The rivers of woe
Shall not thee overflow

For I will be with thee
Thy troubles to bless
And sanctify to thee
Thy deepest distress

When through fiery trials
Thy pathways shall lie
My grace, all sufficient
Shall be thy supply

The flame shall not hurt thee
I only design
Thy dross to consume
And thy gold to refine

The soul that on Jesus
Hath leaned for repose
I will not, I will not
Desert to its foes

That soul, though all hell
Should endeavor to shake
I’ll never, no never
No never forsake

Great and Mighty King
Your love has rescued us
The cross delivered all our hearts from fear
Our hope is here

You came to make a way
Jesus, you came to raise the dead to life
Our song will rise

O great and mighty King, you reign in majesty
Before your throne we sing holy, holy
O great and mighty King, for all eternity
We bow with heaven and sing holy, holy

What do we have to bring
This is our offering, our hearts before
The risen Lord

All power in your name
Jesus, the One who saves, be lifted high
Our song will rise

O great and mighty King, you reign in majesty
Before your throne we sing holy, holy
O great and mighty King, for all eternity
We bow with heaven and sing holy, holy

Your glory fills this place
We shout unending praise
Forever hallelujah
Forever hallelujah

Your glory fills this place
We shout unending praise
Forever hallelujah
Forever hallelujah

Your glory fills this place
We shout unending praise
Forever hallelujah
Forever hallelujah

Your glory fills this place
We shout unending praise
Forever hallelujah
Forever hallelujah

O great and mighty King, you reign in majesty
Before your throne we sing holy, holy
O great and mighty King, for all eternity
We bow with heaven and sing holy, holy

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

Gifts— “One and Only”
Who spoke and taught the sun to rise?
Whose lips proclaimed the birth of light?
Who sparked the kindling of stars
And set the fire in our hearts?

Who sang as planets learned their dance?
Who poured the oceans from his hands?
Whose breath awakened life from dust
And leaves me breathless at his touch?

Jesus, One and Only
Great and Holy, we are yours
How our hearts race at your glory
Lord, Almighty, we are yours and yours alone

Who is this man upon a cross
Who left his throne to ransom us?
Who died to save us at our worst
And rose to give us Heaven’s best?
You rose to give us Heaven’s best

Jesus, One and Only
Great and Holy, we are yours
How our hearts race at your glory
Lord, Almighty, we are yours

My Savior, Jesus, One and Only
Great and Holy, we are yours
How our hearts race at your glory
Lord, Almighty, we are yours and yours alone

We will watch the bridegroom come
And Heaven breaking like the dawn
All dressed in white, our shame is gone
We’re free to dance before your throne

Jesus, One and Only
Great and Holy, we are yours
How our hearts race at your glory
Lord, Almighty, we are yours

My Jesus, One and Only
Great and Holy, we are yours
How our hearts race at your glory
Lord, Almighty, we are yours and yours alone

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
Praise to the Lord
The Almighty, the King of creation
O my soul praise him
For he is thy health and salvation

All ye who hear
Now to his temple draw near
Praise him in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord
Who hath fearfully, wondrously, made thee
Health hath vouchsafed
And when heedlessly failing, hath stayed thee

What need or grief
Ever hath failed of relief
Wings of his mercy did shade thee

Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him

Praise to the Lord
Who, when tempests their warfare are waging
Who, when the elements
Madly around thee are raging

Biddeth them cease
Turneth their fury to peace
Whirlwinds and waters assuaging

Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him

Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before him

Let the ‘amen’
Sound from his people again
Gladly for aye we adore him

Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him

Children Dismissed for Children’s Church

Sermon
“When Friends Collide”
Acts 15:36-41

Prayer of Confession
Heavenly Father,
forgive us and cleanse us from unrighteousness.
Our sins are too numerous to count
and too great for us to overcome.
Freshly pour out your grace upon us.
Captivate our hearts, our desires,
our motives and our actions.
Where we have been distant, draw us near.
Where we have been resistant, break down our hardness,
where we have been fearful, reaffirm your love.
Heal, restore and renew us. And in this,
bear testimony to your greatness and glory.
That the world would know that you are good.
Through Jesus. Amen.

The Lord’s Supper

Just As I Am
Just as I am, without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bidst me come to thee
O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot
To thee whose blood can cleanse each spot
O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many conflicts, many doubts
Fightings and fears within, without
O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Just as I am, thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down
Now, to be thine, yea thine alone
O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father
And to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end
