Call to Worship
Leader:
Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

People:
He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.

All:
The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord.

—based on Psalm 146

Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise
Immortal, invisible
God only wise
In light inaccessible
Hid from our eyes

Most blessed, most glorious
The Ancient of Days
Almighty, victorious
Thy great name we praise

Unresting, unhasting
And silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting
Thou rulest in might

Thy justice, like mountains
High soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains
Of goodness and love

To all, life thou givest
To both great and small
In all life thou livest
The true life of all

We blossom and flourish
As leaves on the tree
And wither and perish
But naught changeth thee

Great Father of glory
Pure Father of light
Thine angels adore thee
All veiling their sight

All praise we would render
O help us to see
‘Tis only the splendor
Of light hideth thee

O Praise Him
Turn your ear to Heaven
And hear the noise inside
The sound of angels awe
The sound of angels songs

And all this for a King
We could join and sing
All to Christ the King

How constant, how divine
This song of ours will rise
O, how constant how divine
This love of ours will rise, will rise…

O praise him, O praise him
He is holy, he is holy

Turn your gaze to Heaven
And raise a joyous noise
The sound of salvation come
The sound of rescued ones

And all this for a King
Angels join to sing
All for Christ our King

O praise him, O praise him
He is holy, he is holy
(repeat)

How infinite and sweet
This love so rescuing
O, how infinitely sweet
This great love that has redeemed
As one, we sing…

Hallelujah, hallelujah
He is holy, he is holy

O praise him, O praise him
He is holy, he is holy
(repeat)

Great is Thy Faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow
Of turning with thee

Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As thou hast been
Thou forever will be

Summer and winter
And springtime and harvest
Sun moon and stars
In their courses above

Join with all nature
In manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness
Mercy and love

Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see

All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thy own dear presence
To cheer and to guide

Strength for today
And bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine
With ten thousand beside

Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see

All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Great Are You Lord
You give life, you are love,
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope
You restore ev’ry heart that is broken
And great are you Lord

It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to you only

You give life, you are love,
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope
You restore ev’ry heart that is broken
And great are you Lord

It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to you only

And all the earth will shout your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are you Lord

And all the earth will shout your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are you Lord

And all the earth will shout your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are you Lord

It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to you only

It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to you only

Children Dismissed for Children’s Church

Sermon
“The Cultural Imperative”
Acts 16:1-5

Prayer of Confession
Mighty God and loving Father,
be merciful to us.
We offer nothing but empty hands,
but we come in the name of Jesus,
who died our death, and bore our shame.
And we pray that in Christ, you would forgive our sin,
and restore the joy of our salvation,
renewing us to serve and take pleasure in you,
your Church and your world,
as you make all things new.
Now, and forevermore.
Through Jesus. Amen.

The Lord’s Supper

Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts
Jesus, thou joy of loving hearts
Thou fount of life, thou light of men
From the best bliss that earth imparts
We turn unfilled to thee again

Thy truth unchanged hath ever stood
Thou savest those that on thee call
To them that seek thee, thou art good
To them that find thee all in all

We taste of thee, O Living Bread
And long to feast upon thee still
We drink of thee, the Fountainhead
And thirst our souls from thee to fill

Our restless spirits yearn for thee
Wherever our changeful lot is cast
Glad when thy gracious smile we see
Blessed when our faith can hold thee fast

O Jesus, ever with us stay
Make all our moments calm and bright
Chase the dark night of sin away
Shed over the world thy holy light

Shed over the world thy holy light

Shed over the world thy holy light
