Welcome & Announcements

Call to Worship
Blessed are you, O Lord,
the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the victory and the majesty,
for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
and you are exalted as head above all.
And now we thank you, our God,
and praise your glorious name.

—based on I Chronicles 29

The Earth is Yours
Your voice it thunders
The oaks start twisting
The forest sounds with cedars breaking

The waters see you
And start their writhing
From the depths a song is rising

Now it’s rising from the ground…

Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours
The earth is yours

Your voice it thunders
The ground is shaking
The mighty mountains now are trembling

Creation sees you
And starts composing
The fields and trees, they start rejoicing

Now it’s rising from the ground
Now it’s rising from the ground
Hear us crying out…

Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing
Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours and singing

Holy, holy, holy, holy Lord
The earth is yours
The earth is yours
The earth is yours

Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken
Glorious things of thee are spoken
Zion, city of our God
He, whose word cannot be broken
Formed thee for his own abode

On the Rock of Ages founded
What can shake thy sure repose
With salvation’s walls surrounded
Thou mayst smile at all thy foes

See, the streams of living waters
Springing from eternal love
Well supply thy sons and daughters
And all fear of want remove

Who can faint while such a river
Ever will their thirst assuage
Grace which like the Lord, the giver
Never fails from age to age

Blest inhabitants of Zion
Washed in our Redeemer’s blood
Jesus, whom our souls rely on
Makes us monarchs, priests to God

Us, by his great love, he raises
Rulers over self to reign
And as priests his solemn praises
We for thankful offering bring

Savior, if of Zion’s city
I through grace a member am
Let the world deride or pity
I will glory in thy name

Fading is the worldling’s pleasure
All his boasted pomp and show
Solid joys and lasting treasure
None but Zion’s children know

Our God Alone
Who formed the mountains
And filled the oceans
Our God alone, our God alone

Who took the dust
And breathed life in us
Our God alone, our God alone

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Who came from heaven
For our redemption
Our God alone, our God alone

Who died for sin
That we may live
Our God alone, our God alone

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Who rose again
Death could not win
Our God alone, our God alone

Who is returning, bringing a Kingdom
Our God alone, our God alone

We will worship, we will worship
Our God alone, our God alone

We will worship, we will worship
Our God alone, our God alone

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Wonderful, Merciful Savior
Wonderful, merciful Savior
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb
Could rescue the souls of men
O, you rescue the souls of men

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts
Have hopelessly lost the way
O, we hopelessly lost the way

You are the one that we praise
You are the one we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
O, our hearts always hunger for

Almighty, infinite Father
Faithfully loving your own
Here, in our weakness, you find us
Falling before your throne
O, we’re falling before your throne

You are the one that we praise
You are the one we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
O, our hearts always hunger for

Children Dismissed for Children’s Church

Sermon
“An Unreasonable Peace”
Galatians 5:22-26 & Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer of Confession
Lord, we are sinful people,
full of greed and self-interest.
We lust after that which destroys
and ignore the suffering of those around us.
We daily reject you by thought, word, and deed.
Yet, despite our sin, you have shown us perfect love
through the death and resurrection of your son, Jesus.
Forgive us, bring our dead hearts back to life,
and wash us with his cleansing blood.
That we may live, love, and serve you,
until all things are made new.
Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose
spirit is no deceit.

—Psalm 32:1-2

The Lord’s Supper

In The Shadow of the Glorious Cross
In the shadow of the glorious cross
Compelled by grace to cast my lot
I’ll discard the loss and bare your name
Forsaking all for your own fame

Your hymn of grace sung over me
Abounding forth in glorious streams
My thirst is quenched by you, my Lord
Sustained am I, redeemed, restored
Sustained am I, redeemed, restored

Hallelujah, hallelujah

When death’s dark shadow’s at my feet
When I am plagued by unbelief
You place my hands into your side
By precious blood identified
By precious blood identified

Hallelujah, hallelujah

These crowns I’ve clenched with fisted hands
I cast them down before the throne
Of Christ, my God, the worthy lamb
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
