Call to Worship
I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God;
I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you—
I whom you have delivered.
My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long.
—Psalm 71:22-24
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee
Joyful, joyful we adore thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day
All thy works with joy surround thee
Earth and heav’n reflect thy rays
Stars and angels sing around thee
Center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
Flowery meadow, flashing sea
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in thee
Mortals join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
Father love is reigning o’er us
Brother love binds man to man
Ever singing march we onward
Victors in the midst of strife
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life
Henry van Dyke Tune HYMN TO JOY, Ludwig van Beethoven; melody from “ Nineth Symphony”; adapted by Edward Hodges, CCLI 241710
Glory
The mountains standing in your strength
The oceans roaring out your praise
All creation glorifies your name
The angels bow before your throne
The heavens shine for you alone
All creation glorifies your name
All creation glorifies your name
Singing — holy, holy, holy is the Lord
Almighty, worthy, all the earth is filled
With your glory, glory
We give you glory, glory
In your hands you hold the universe
At your feet, nations of the earth
All creation glorifies your name
All creation glorifies your name
Singing — holy, holy, holy is the Lord
Almighty, worthy, all the earth is filled
With your glory, glory
We give you glory, glory
Blessing, honor, glory, power
All our praise is yours forever
Blessing, honor, glory, power
All our praise is yours forever
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord
Almighty, worthy, all the earth is filled
With your glory, glory
We give you glory, glory

Gifts — The Cross of Christ
Son of God, Son of man
His life poured out for all
See his hands, see his scars
His love can’t be denied
Our God is high and lifted up
It is the cross, my only plea
The blood he shed delivers me
Our Savior’s arms are open wide
A love so great, the cross of Christ
Ev’ry debt, all we owe
He bears it as his own
Brought to life, we are free
To live in Christ alone
Our God is high and lifted up
It is the cross, my only plea
The blood he shed delivers me
Our Savior’s arms are open wide
A love so great, the cross of Christ
See the Lamb of God, see the Father’s love
All to Jesus we owe, he paid it all
See the Lamb of God, see the Father’s love
All to Jesus we owe, he paid it all
All to Jesus we owe, he paid it all
It is the cross, my only plea
The blood he shed delivers me
Our Savior’s arms are open wide
A love so great, the cross of Christ
It is the cross, my only plea
The blood he shed delivers me
Our Savior’s arms are open wide
A love so great, the cross of Christ
See the Lamb of God, see the Father’s love
All to Jesus we owe, he paid it all
It is the cross, my only plea
The blood he shed delivers me
Our Savior’s arms are open wide
A love so great, the cross of Christ

Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
What a fellowship, what a joy divine
Leaning on the everlasting arms
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way
Leaning on the everlasting arms
O how bright the path grows from day to day
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
What have I to dread, what have I to fear
Leaning on the everlasting arms
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms

Our God Alone
Who formed the mountains
And filled the oceans
Our God alone, our God alone
Who took the dust
And breathed life in us
Our God alone, our God alone
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Who came from heaven
For our redemption
Our God alone, our God alone
Who died for sin
That we may live
Our God alone, our God alone
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Who rose again
Death could not win
Our God alone, our God alone
Who is returning, bringing a Kingdom
Our God alone, our God alone
We will worship, we will worship
Our God alone, our God alone
We will worship, we will worship
Our God alone, our God alone
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

Sermon
“A Kingdom of Priests – Why We Can Care”
Revelation 1:4-8
Prayer of Confession
Father we confess that we have sinned against you.
You are faithful, yet we are unfaithful.
You are king, but we try to rule in your place.
You set us free, but we let love of money control us.
We return your love with pride,
and judge others as less than ourselves.
Have mercy on us, and forgive us.
For Jesus sake, remember our sins no more,
and cleanse us by his blood.
We pray in his name. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
—Romans 3:23-24
The Lord’s Supper
There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood
There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Emmanuel’s veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away
And there may I, though vile as he
Wash all my sins away
Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved, to sin no more
Till all the ransomed church of God
Be saved, to sin no more
E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die
Then in a nobler, sweeter song
I’ll sing thy power to save
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave
