and give thanks to his holy name.

—Psalm 30:4

Come Christians Join to Sing
Come, Christians, join to sing
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our King
Alleluia! Amen!

Let all, with heart and voice
Before his throne rejoice
Praise is his gracious choice
Alleluia! Amen!

Come, lift your hearts on high
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky
Alleluia! Amen!

He is our Guide and Friend
To us he’ll condescend
His love shall never end
Alleluia! Amen!

Praise yet our Christ again
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain
Alleluia! Amen!

On heaven’s blissful shore
His goodness we’ll adore
Singing forevermore
Alleluia! Amen!

Blessed Be Your Name
Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in
Lord still I will say…….

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Only King Forever
Our God and firm foundation
Our Rock, the only solid ground
The nations rise and fall

Kingdoms once strong now shaken
We trust forever in your name
The name of Jesus
We trust the name of Jesus

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

Unmatched in all your wisdom
In love and justice you will reign
And ev’ry knee will bow

We bring our expectations
Our hope is anchored in your name
The name of Jesus
We trust the name of Jesus

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

We lift our banner high
We lift the name of Jesus
From age to age you reign
Your kingdom has no end

We lift our banner high
We lift the name of Jesus
From age to age you reign
Your kingdom has no end

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

Gifts — Immeasurably More
More than all we ask, than all we seek
All our hopes and dreams
You are immeasurably more
Than we can know, than we can pray
All our words can say
You are immeasurably more

There’s nothing greater than your love
You’re more than we can imagine
There’s nothing sweeter on this earth
You’re more than we can imagine

Our hearts respond to who you are
It’s you, O Lord, that we adore
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine

More than all our sin, than all our shame
Stronger than the grave
You are immeasurably more
I can’t help but sing, can’t help but praise
My heart cannot contain
You are immeasurably more

There’s nothing greater than your love
You’re more than we can imagine
There’s nothing sweeter on this earth
You’re more than we can imagine

Our hearts respond to who you are
It’s you, O Lord, that we adore
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine

No eye has seen, no ear has heard
What is coming, what is coming
Never-ending joy, never-failing love
You are coming, you are coming

No eye has seen, no ear has heard
What is coming, what is coming
Never-ending joy, never-failing love
You are coming, you are coming

There’s nothing greater than your love
You’re more than we can imagine
There’s nothing sweeter on this earth
You’re more than we can imagine

Our hearts respond to who you are
It’s you, O Lord, that we adore
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine
You are more, you are more
You’re more than we can imagine

What a Beautiful Name
You were the Word at the beginning
One with God, the Lord Most High
Your hidden glory in creation
Now revealed in you our Christ

What a beautiful name it is
What a beautiful name it is
The name of Jesus Christ, my King

What a beautiful name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful name it is, the name of Jesus

You didn’t want heaven without us
So Jesus, you brought heaven down
My sin was great, your love was greater
What could separate us now

What a wonderful name it is
What a wonderful name it is
The name of Jesus Christ, my King

What a wonderful name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a wonderful name it is, the name of Jesus
What a wonderful name it is, the name of Jesus

Death could not hold you
The veil tore before you
You silenced the boast of sin and grave

The heavens are roaring
The praise of your glory
For you are raised to life again

You have no rival
You have no equal
Now and forever, God you reign

Yours is the Kingdom
Yours is the glory
Yours is the name above all names

What a powerful name it is
What a powerful name it is
The name of Jesus Christ, my King

What a powerful name it is
Nothing can stand against
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus

Sermon
“No Room for Error — David & Uzzah”
2 Samuel 6:1-16

Prayer of Confession
Father, we confess our sins to you.
You call us to think on what is pure –
but our thoughts are impure.
You ask for words that build up and heal –
but we speak words that tear down and hurt.
You require that we serve others –
but we serve only ourselves.
In every way, we fall short of your glory.
But in Jesus you have made us holy.
Forgive our sins, we pray.
Cleanse our thoughts, heal our lips,
give us power to love by your Holy Spirit.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

— Isaiah 43:25

The Lord’s Supper

Be Thou My Vision
Be thou my vision
O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me
Save that thou art

Thou my best thought
By day or by night
Waking or sleeping
Thy presence my light

Be thou my wisdom
And thou my true word
I ever with thee
And thou with me, Lord

Thou my great Father
I thy true son
Thou in me dwelling
And I with thee one

Riches I heed not
Nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance
Now and always

Thou and thou only
First in my heart
High King of heaven
My treasure thou art

High King of heaven
My victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys
O bright heav’ns Son

Heart of my own heart
Whatever befall
Still be my vision
O ruler of all

Ancient Irish poem, ca. 8th cent. tr. M. E. Byrne 1905;verse. E. H. Hull, 1912. Tune, SLANE, traditional Irish melody CCLI 241710

Doxology

Praise him, all creatures here below
Praise him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen
