Welcome & Announcements

Call to Worship
Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
and give thanks to his holy name.

—Psalm 30:4

Come Christians, Join to Sing
Come, Christians, join to sing
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our King
Alleluia! Amen!

Let all, with heart and voice
Before his throne rejoice
Praise is his gracious choice
Alleluia! Amen!

Come, lift your hearts on high
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky
Alleluia! Amen!

He is our Guide and Friend
To us he’ll condescend
His love shall never end
Alleluia! Amen!

Praise yet our Christ again
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain
Alleluia! Amen!

On heaven’s blissful shore
His goodness we’ll adore
Singing forevermore
Alleluia! Amen!

Only King Forever
Our God and firm foundation
Our Rock, the only solid ground
The nations rise and fall

Kingdoms once strong now shaken
We trust forever in your name
The name of Jesus
We trust the name of Jesus

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

Unmatched in all your wisdom
In love and justice you will reign
And ev’ry knee will bow

We bring our expectations
Our hope is anchored in your name
The name of Jesus
We trust the name of Jesus

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

We lift our banner high
We lift the name of Jesus
From age to age you reign
Your kingdom has no end

We lift our banner high
We lift the name of Jesus
From age to age you reign
Your kingdom has no end

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift you higher
You are the only King forever
Forevermore you are victorious

Prayer for the People, the City, and the Nations

Gifts – Lift Every Voice
Lift ev’ry voice and sing, till earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of liberty

Let our rejoicing rise high as the list’ning skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea

Sing a song full of the faith
That the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope
That the present has brought us

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on till the victory is won

God of our weary years, God of our silent tears
Thou who hast brought us thus far on our way

Thou who hast by thy might, led us into the light
Keep us forever in the path we pray

Sing a song full of the faith
That the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope
That the present has brought us

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on till the victory is won

Good, Good Father
I’ve heard a thousand stories
Of what they think you’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper
Of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you’re pleased
And that I’m never alone

You’re a good, good Father, it’s who you are
It’s who you are it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you, it’s who I am
It’s who I am, it’s who I am

I’ve seen many searching
For answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only you provide
‘Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word

You’re a good, good Father, it’s who you are
It’s who you are it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you, it’s who I am
It’s who I am, it’s who I am

You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

Love so undeniable I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love

You’re a good, good Father, it’s who you are
It’s who you are it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you, it’s who I am
It’s who I am, it’s who I am

You’re a good, good Father, it’s who you are
It’s who you are it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you, it’s who I am
It’s who I am, it’s who I am

You’re a good, good Father, it’s who you are
It’s who you are it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you, it’s who I am
It’s who I am, it’s who I am

Praise to the Lord, The Almighty
Praise to the Lord
The Almighty, the King of creation
O my soul praise him
For he is thy health and salvation

All ye who hear
Now to his temple draw near
Praise him in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord
Who hath fearfully, wondrously, made thee
Health hath vouchsafed
And when heedlessly failing, hath stayed thee

What need or grief
Ever hath failed of relief
Wings of his mercy did shade thee

Praise him, praise him, praise him

Praise to the Lord
Who, when tempests their warfare are waging
Who, when the elements
Madly around thee are raging

Biddeth them cease
Turneth their fury to peace
Whirlwinds and waters assuaging

Praise him, praise him, praise him

Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before him

Let the ‘amen’
Sound from his people again
Gladly for aye we adore him

Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him, praise him
Praise him

Sermon
“Grace for An Ordinary Life”
Luke 19:1-10

Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we have sinned.
We confess the sins no one knows,
and the sins everyone knows.
We confess the sins that are a burden to us
and the sins that no longer bother us.
We confess that we have not
loved one another as Christ loved us.
We confess that we have not
been generously forgiving
towards those who have hurt us.
Father forgive us.
Restore to us the joy of our salvation and
give us spirits ready to obey you and love others.
Through Jesus we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus

— Acts 3:19-20

The Lord’s Supper

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain, I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ, my God
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to his blood

See, from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

To Christ, who won for sinners grace
By bitter grief and anguish sore
Be praise from all the ransomed race
Forever and forevermore

Isaac Watt, 1709. Tunes, WALY, English melody; HAMBURG, based on plainsong, Lowell Mason, 1824 CCLI 241710

Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise him, all creatures here below
Praise him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen
