WORSHIP – October 14, 2018

All the Poor and Powerless
All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely

And all the thieves will come confess
And know that you are holy

And know that you are holy

And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

All the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy

And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that you are holy

And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

Shout it
Go on and sing it from the mountains

Go on and tell it to the masses
That he is God

Shout it
Go on and sing it from the mountains

Go on and tell it to the masses
That he is God

And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

And all will sing out hallelujah
And we will cry out hallelujah

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah
Pilgrim through this barren land

I am weak, but thou art mighty
Hold me with thy powerful hand

Bread of heaven
Bread of heaven

Feed me till I want no more

Feed me till I want no more

Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow

Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through

Strong Deliverer
Strong Deliverer

Be thou still my Strength and Shield

Be thou still my Strength and Shield

When I tread the verge of Jordan
Bid my anxious fears subside

Death of deaths, and hell’s destruction
Land me safe on Canaan’s side

Songs of praises
Songs of praises

I will ever give to thee

I will ever give to thee

Praise the King
There’s a reason
Why the curse of sin is broken

There’s a reason
Why the darkness runs from light

There’s a reason
Why we stand here now forgiven

Jesus is alive

There’s a reason
Why we are not overtaken

There’s a reason
Why we sing on through the night

There’s a reason
Why our hope remains eternal

Jesus is alive

Praise the King, he is risen
Praise the King, he’s alive

Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, he’s alive

Hallelujah, he’s alive

There’s a reason
Why our hearts can be courageous

There’s a reason
Why the dead are made alive

There’s a reason
Why we share his resurrection

Jesus is alive

Praise the King, he is risen
Praise the King, he’s alive

Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, he’s alive

Hallelujah, he’s alive

The grave could not ignore it
When all of heaven’s roaring

Hell, where is your victory
Death, where is your sting

The world cannot ignore it
When all the saints are roaring

Hell, where is your victory
Death, where is your sting

The grave could not ignore it
When all of heaven’s roaring

Hell, where is your victory
Death, where is your sting

The world cannot ignore it
When all the saints are roaring

Hell, where is your victory
Death, where is your sting

Praise the King, he is risen
Praise the King, he’s alive

Praise the King, death’s defeated
Hallelujah, he’s alive

Hallelujah, he’s alive

Hallelujah, he’s alive

Gifts — Great Things
Come let us worship our King
Come let us bow at his feet

He has done great things

See what the Savior has done
See how his love overcomes

He has done great things
He has done great things

O hero of heaven, you conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain

O God, you have done great things

We dance in your freedom, awake and alive
O Jesus, our Savior, your name lifted high

O God, you have done great things

You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore

You have done great things

And I know you will do it again
For your promise is yes and amen

You will do great things
God, you do great things

O hero of heaven, you conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain

O God, you have done great things

We dance in your freedom, awake and alive
O Jesus, our Savior, your name lifted high

O God, you have done great things

Hallelujah, God, above it all
Hallelujah, God, unshakeable

Hallelujah, you have done great things

Hallelujah, God, above it all
Hallelujah, God, unshakeable

Hallelujah, you have done great things

You’ve done great things

O hero of heaven, you conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain

O God, you have done great things

We dance in your freedom, awake and alive
O Jesus, our Savior, your name lifted high

O God, you have done great things

You have done great things

O God, you do great things

Revelation Song
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is he

Sing a new song to him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings

You are my ev’rything
And I will adore you

Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder

Blessing and honor
Strength and glory and power be
To you, the only wise King

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings

You are my ev’rything
And I will adore you

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name

Jesus your name is power
Breath and living water

Such a marvelous myst’ry……

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings

You are my ev’rything
And I will adore you

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings

You are my ev’rything
And I will adore you

Sermon
“Daniel and the Lions”
Daniel 6:16-28

Prayer of Confession & Assurance of Pardon
Holy God, we live each day struggling with our own burdens
and failing to trust you.

Jesus said, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened
and I will give you rest.”

We chase material things and success that fades.
We prioritize our selfish desires above all else.

Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.”

Instead of seeking wholeness and reconciliation, we carry
grudges, avoid conflict, and live in broken relationships.

Your Word says, “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted,
forgiving one another, just as God, in Christ, forgave you.”

We don’t live as if your promises are true, and are unwilling
to give you our whole hearts.

Your Word says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his
only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but will
have eternal life.”

Father, forgive us. Help us to love you, serve others, and daily
live in the joy of your forgiveness. Through Jesus, Amen.

The Lord’s Supper

Arise, My Soul, Arise
Arise, my soul, arise
Shake off your guilty fears

The bleeding sacrifice
In my behalf appears

Before the throne my Surety stands
Before the throne my Surety stands

My name is written on his hands

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Shake off your guilty fears and rise

He ever lives above
For me to intercede

His all redeeming love
His precious blood to plead

His blood atoned for every race
His blood atoned for every race

And sprinkles now the throne of grace

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Shake off your guilty fears and rise

Five bleeding wounds he bears
Received on Calvary

They pour effectual prayers
They strongly plead for me

“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry

“Nor let that ransomed sinner die”

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Shake off your guilty fears and rise

My God is reconciled
His pardoning voice I hear

He owns me for his child
I can no longer fear

With confidence I now draw nigh
With confidence I now draw nigh

And “Father, Abba, Father,” cry

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Arise (arise), arise (arise), arise
Arise, my soul, arise

Shake off your guilty fears and rise
