Profession of the Church
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

An Easter Call to Worship           
‘On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.  In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!”

Christ is risen, and you are overthrown.  Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen.  Christ is risen, and the Angels rejoice. 

Christ is risen, and life reigns.  Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave.

For Christ, being risen from the dead, has become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.  So will it be with the resurrection of the dead.  The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;

It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.  When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’

‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.  So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”  Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Prayer of Confession
Good and Holy God,
Have mercy on us.
Forgive and cleanse us from our sins.
We believe.  Help our unbelief.
When we cannot see, we struggle to believe.
Our failure to understand often leads to fear.
Where our faith is weak, be our strength.
Until you make all things clear,
Guide our steps, in the light and the dark.
Give us hearts that trust and rely in you Alone.
Through Jesus. Amen.

The Church’s One Foundation
The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is his new creation by water and the Word.
From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride;
With his own blood he bought her and for her life he died.

Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth;

The Lord’s Supper — Come Boldly To the Throne of Grace
Come boldly to a throne of grace,
Ye wretched sinners come;
And lay your load at Jesus’ feet,
And plead what he has done.

“How can I come?” Some soul may say,
“I’m lame and cannot walk;
My guilt and sin have stopped my mouth;
I sigh, but dare not talk.”

Come boldly to the throne of grace,

Jehovah is the sinner’s Friend,
